The gang's all here : Original

Alright, I can never find words to start a blog post, so I will just state my purpose: I will write short descriptions of each character and their personality and motivations, starting from left to right.

Parker Prokofiev
The childhood friend of Otto and Charlotte. He was and is a very cheerful, outgoing and charming person who was a natural leader and easily made friends. He also was a big kid so he would protect the awkward and nerdy kids from bullies. His and Otto and Charlotte's parents were friends so the three formed a close bond.

Parker was very active in school - he was at the front of activities and club events, he united the class and made them #1 in all events all throughout highschool. He graduated with honors, got a scholarship for a top school.

He is a short of shameless person that doesn't get bothered by negative or rude people, he can easily talk his way out of situations. Parker is the kind of person that never gets angry or violent, he might get uncomfortable if the situation is going off the rails but he would never raise his voice or be aggressive in a physical manner.

He graduated university with a degree in biology and became a zoologist studying amphibians. He became a public face of environmentalism and conservationism, appeared on educational shows about nature. His forthcoming personality was good for dismantling the stereotype of the standoffish, anti-human tree-hugging nature lover.

However, despite his many qualities, Parker's life wasn't without hardships. Despite his childhood being bright, Parker had to deal with a lot of intrigue and internal politics at university, he worked hard for the student union but had to fight even harder to get funding. He spent all his time on studies and public events, he had little time for himself and what Parker lacked the most was a genuine relationship that wasn't superficial or business related.

I don't want to get too into his internal life because that would be part of his character conflict but Parker's theme is "tip of the iceberg".

Otto Mitz
Otto is the polar opposite of Parker - a shy, withdrawn kid who never fit in. He was saved by his parent's friendship since otherwise Otto would be too shy to approach either Parker or Charlotte. Otto was a musical kid - he had perfect hearing, a great voice and loved playing the piano. Unfortunately, he struggled with about every other subject, math especially. Parker essentially carried Otto throughout highschool and made sure he graduated, for what Otto is eternally grateful.

Otto tried university, flunked out and went to a trade school. He kept playing the piano and learned to become a mechanic. He is not good with customers and doesn't particularly like his job - he doesn't mind tinkering with cars and messes with his own as a personal project, but his antisocial personality makes him a bad employee and his colleagues usually ignore him for work parties.

Otto didn't particularly care and delved deeper into his seclusive lifestyle.

He tried to keep up with Parker and Charlotte when they split up after highschool but eventually Otto couldn't be bothered to keep contacts. He followed both on social media and saw them find new lives and new friends so Otto gave up. He wallowed in his own misery for six years. Until one day Parker invited him to a camping trip after personally appearing at his place of work.

During that camping trip Otto realized what it was that he was truly missing and started a road of recovery.

Otto is a very difficult person but his journey is to realize that the only person who can help him is himself.

Charlotte Lorenzo
Charlotte was always a character. She is hot headed and argumentative and would never be afraid of playing in the mud. She was a bit hard to befriend but once you were on her side, Charlotte would ride or die. She wasn't a bully, however, and befriended Otto and Parker despite their different personalities.

Charlotte was a math genius and earned many prizes for solving prized problems and entering competitions, she went on to study IT and spends her days programming all sorts of odd devices, often working together with engineers. She loves solving problems and has a very pragmatic, almost utilitarian worldview.

She is a no-nonsense woman, so much that she scoffs at the astrology page in the newspaper and would even argue with a grandma about an old superstition. Charlotte is a very serious person and even in a family picture she would make a face as if she had her passport picture taken, never smiling. Her method of relaxing would be kickboxing or jogging or programming an odd robot.

Daria completely changed Charlotte's world view - she met an impulsive, air headed person who would make up plans on the spot. Once Daria invited Charlotte to a date, they took the bus and went to a small town. Charlotte wondered where the two were going and they ended up lost in the local woods - Daria just felt like going there to take pictures of mushrooms and collect some moss.

For some reason, Charlotte could never be angry at Daria. Perhaps Parker had eased Charlotte into a love for nature, so she could see the value in mushrooms and moss. Charlotte opened up and even allowed Daria to try and convince her that crystals really can collect moon energy.

Charlotte's character ark is about stopping to smell the flowers. She is a very stoic person and almost needs permission to just... let go. Daria is the final link and a camping trip is the catalyst, especially after Daria goes missing for real.

Daria Sartre
One might think she is a witch - Daria carries around a Grimoire, writes a lot of poetry and her observations about the world. She studied as a designer and loves to draw intricate designs in her book, she says some of them are to attract fairies or to ward off evil spirits. Nobody knows what lore she is taking her designs from but Daria herself is very knowledgeable about spirits who need to be honored or feared.

She is very superstitious, so much that Daria makes sure she doesn't have to leave the house on Friday the 13th, being self employed makes it much easier but some people still think it's a bit too much, especially if they invite Daria for a Friday night outing.

Daria adores Charlotte with all of her heart. The two met almost accidentally - Daria was a designer on a project with Charlotte. Charlotte was the programmer, they had an engineer, a marketing specialist and a designer. Together they created a robot that was supposed to feed pets, it wasn't quite popular but the team ended on positive terms, in fact Daria and Charlotte started going out.

The two would talk a lot, about many things, both serious and superstitious. Despite their differences, both formed a close bond and a deep respect for one another.

Daria is like a shining beacon of light, that hopes to bring happiness in those around her. She enjoys gifting boxes of herbal tea to her friend and offer advice on "cleansing" rituals. Don't worry, it's just to cleanse your aura, not any serious illnesses.

That's the gist of the gang of four, they will be in a story about a memorable camping trip... I won't say too much since the story is in the works and I don't want to spoil everything. All I will say that the main adventure begins when Daria goes missing in the woods.

A little about Crusher and Sunny...

Charlie "Skullcrusher" Baker

A guy who fancies himself a wrestler. He created the persona of "Skullcrusher" an energetic man with a bright pink jumpsuit with yellow bones drawn on it. He tries to get big but ends up in an illegal underground brawling contest, then he gets tangled up with a mafia family and it all goes down from there....

His story is not particularly fleshed out. I just know that Crusher does wrestling and he gets tangled up with the wrong people.

Sonia "Sunny" Klaus

She is Charlie's girlfriend and manager, wanting to help him become famous and find gigs. She made little flyers and advertised Charlie as "Skullcrusher" and ended up getting the attention of a minor amateur wrestling ring.

Which turned out to be a front for a money laundering scheme... Since Sonia's life is on the line, both she and Charlie get tangled up in business perhaps a bit too big for them.

Sunny's and Crusher's stories are clearly not as developed as Parker and co's but Crusher came to me first as a concept so I had to include him... There are some other characters related to his story so MAYBE I will work on that eventually.

I'll try to limit myself to small stories with small rosters, I'm no Tolkien.

So that's about it for introductions to some new characters. I'm gonna name the tag for Parker and co "Tapio" and the tag for Crusher and Sunny "Crusher".
